After having cancer, life seems so much brighter. The sky is bluer. The breeze on your face feels like a million dollars. You hug a little longer. But most importantly, you start to get rid of all the crap that you no longer want to be a part of and focus on how you want your life to truly look. More “No’s” to things that don’t matter and more “Yes’s” to things that align with your vision of life.
But even after having a life-threatening diagnosis, it’s hard to hang on to this feeling. As the weeks, months, and years pass by and you live on, that feeling slips. I’ve asked many survivors how they hang on to this feeling? It’s such a perfect outlook to have on life, I want it to last!
I’m tired of dragging myself through tasks I dread or forcing myself to show up when something inside of me is pushing back. Cancer places your mortality front and center. You feel like your days are numbered. It’s time for all of us to realize we are all in the same position – your days are numbered too!
I’m focusing in on my bucket list! All the things in life I would love to do but haven’t because I was scared, didn’t have the time (everyone’s favorite excuse), or because I just got caught up in everyday tasks.
But I actually have several different bucket lists!
1)My Overall Bucket List
2)My 2019 Summer Bucket List
3)Completed Bucket List items (can’t wait to share this one with you).

Grasslands National Park
This was a trip I’ve been wanting to go on for several years now. There is a national park located in the province that I’ve lived most of my life but I’ve never been! It’s several hours from where I grew up and even further from where I currently live plus life just never seemed to take me to that corner of the world…until now!
I was in the lovely community of Climax (I’ll pause for your school boy giggles now. Yes - the town is really called Climax!) to speak to an inspiring group of women using their skills to support cancer fighters. This trip took me within an hour of Grasslands so we made the extra trip and it did not disappoint!
As we drove into the park, there was a sign asking cars to slow down because there might be a buffalo herd and they were right there! So lucky! Because the park is huge, you never know where the herd will be.
I love traveling Canada! I’ve been to every province, coast to coast, but I’m always impressed by Saskatchewan’s understated beauty. The sky is so huge and truly does live on. You feel like you can breath here!
